Eight ensemble pieces crafted by eight talented students draw inspiration from an exclusive collection of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Explore the fascinating synergy between music and visual art.

This year, eight secondary and university students have been selected to participate in the third edition of the "Young Composer Workshop" hosted by the Young Friends of the Hong Kong Arts Festival. Under the mentorship of Dr. Phoebus Lee and Dr. Kai-young Chan, the students were able to develop large-scale chamber music pieces inspired by the exhibits of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, including Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, Lacquerware, and other artwork. The "Young Composer Showcase" will feature the premiere of these eight compositions, performed by the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble.

The concert is open to the public at no charge, and we cordially invite you to immerse yourself in the wonder of contemporary music while exploring the museum with your ears.
